Esports continues its upwards popular rise with the news that it is likely to figure in future editions of the Commonwealth Games, which have just concluded in Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
A trial of Esports took place last weekend at the Games and was well received.
This featured a hundred players representing 20 Commonwealth Nations, who played for medals in three video games, namely, ‘Rocket League’, ‘Dota2’ and ‘eFootball’.
According to Louise Martin, the President of the Commonwealth Games Federation:
“Going forward this will be a sport within the Games – that’s my personal opinion.”
So, it is onwards and upwards for Esports!
