Women’s Football: Reddit Co-founder buys stake in Women's Super League Champions Chelsea

Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of the social media site Reddit and husband of the famous tennis player Serena Williams, has purchased a 8-10% share in the Chelsea Women's Football Club, reportedly worth around £20 million (around €23.7 million), and with it a seat on the board of the Club.
Aki Mandhar, the chief executive of the Club, commented as follows:
"This is a landmark day in the history of Chelsea Women and for women's football in Europe and beyond."
And he added that:
"This investment is validation of the club's past success but more importantly it is yet another proof point in the market of the persistent growth and potential of women's football.”
Ohanian, who also owns shares in the TGL Golf League, has an estimated net worth of US$150 million (around €178 million).
