Police and fans were injured as Celtic and Rangers supporters clashed during a pitch invasion following a Scottish Cup quarter final match at Ibrox stadium in Glasgow on 8 March 2026, and a number of arrests were made by the police.

Celtic fans initially invaded the pitch in celebration of their win followed by Rangers fans.

Flares were thrown as police and stewards formed a barricade to separate the two groups of supporters.

A representative of the Scottish police condemned the violence and remarked:

"Officers and stewards were faced with extreme hostility and violence over a sustained period, with many individuals having armed themselves with items clearly intended to cause harm.”

And added:

"Officers and members of the public have been injured in this despicable display ….”

The disorder quickly settled down, and fans returned to the stands.

The Scottish Football Association also condemned the pitch invasion and stated that an immediate investigation would be carried out.
