E-Sports Consulting

By Emre Bilginoglu, Attorney, Istanbul, Turkey Last week, Nielsen, the well-known global consumer research and consultancy firm, announced the launch of Nielsen Esports, which will provide sponsorship valuation; fan insights; customised industry research; and consulting services in relation to E-Sports. Nielsen aims to work with rights holders, media platforms and brands around the world. The inexorable growth of E-Sports throughout the world has engaged the attention of nearly everyone in the entertainment business. Independent and reliable measurement of value has become even more significant, since potential investors need to know how much of their investment in E-sports will return and to what extent. There are many commercial opportunities for investing in E-Sports. For example, a business entity, or an entrepreneur, may choose to acquire an E-Sports team; an automaker may pay to get a mention on the jersey of a team; a team may sign a player or may create a new team for another game; a broadcaster may decide to buy the media rights for a particular E-Sports competition. All of these business decisions require a thorough market and financial analysis, as all of the prices in the E-Sports industry are on an upward spiral. Therefore, it is very likely to see more researchers or consultants diving into the E-Sports consultancy market!   Emre Bilginoglu may be contacted by e-mail at ‘This email address is being protected from spambots.
