Formula One: Lewis Hamilton Equals Schumacher Record!

By Prof Dr Ian Blackshaw

Lewis Hamilton’s win in the Eifel Formula One Grand Prix in Germany on 11 October 2020 was a landmark one.

It was his 91st win in the sport and equalled the hitherto unbroken record of 91 wins by Michael Schumacher, who, sadly, remains severely impaired following his near fatal skiing accident in the French Alps on 29 December 2013.

He also seems to be on course, during the present season, for equalling Schumacher’s record 7th Formula One Championship.

We warmly congratulate Hamilton on his achievement, who said that he was “humbled”, as a truly great sportsman and wish him continued success in the future.

Onwards and upwards!
