In a new deal, the owners of the Formula 1 World Championship have agreed with Monaco to host the Grand Prix until 2031.
The Monaco Grand Prix, described as the most iconic and prestigious race of the Championship, has been held since 1955.
Although questions have again been raised about modern F1 cars racing through Monaco’s narrow streets, with no overtaking possible, there are no changes planned to the circuit, due to the difficulties in altering the layout.
As part of the new deal, the race will be rescheduled from the last weekend in May to the first weekend in June 2026.
The President and Chief Executive of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, remarked:
“I’m delighted that Formula 1 will continue to race in Monaco until 2031.”
And added:
“The streets of Monaco are unique and a famous part of Formula 1, and the Monaco Grand Prix remains a race that all drivers dream of winning.”
Long may that dream continue!
