It has been announced, on 28 November 2025, that the four nations comprising the United Kingdom, namely, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, have mounted a bid to host the 2035 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The bid is apparently unopposed and could, therefore, be ratified by FIFA at its Congress next year.
Twenty-two stadiums are featured in the bid - 16 in England, three in Wales, two in Scotland and one in Northern Ireland.
Included are Manchester United’s planned new stadium at Old Trafford, and Birmingham City’s new stadium to be built in Bordesley Green in East Birmingham.
If the bid is successful, the final is likely to be held at Wembley stadium in London.
