Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules EU legal challenge denied

The Court of First Instance of the Court of Justice of the European Union has rejected, on 16 July, 2015, the legal challenge mounted against the UEFA FFP Rules brought in the Striani case (see post by Tom Serby on 1 July, 2015) as "manifestly inadmissible"! UEFA has welcomed this decision and has stated that it has full confidence in the legality of its FFP Rules. The present rejection by the Court, made in accordance with the particular facts and circumstances of the case, may not be the end of this matter, as a legal challenge may be made in other circumstances! For more information, log onto the UEFA official website at '' and see the report and comments on the case posted by UEFA on 22 July, 2015. Prof Dr Ian Blackshaw
