E-Sports: Partnership Agreement signed to enhance its integrity

It has been announced on 17 February 2017 that the European Division of the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) has signed a Partnership Agreement with the E-Sports Integrity Coalition (ESIC), with a view to enhancing the integrity of the E-Sports Industry.
The E-Sports Industry has grown rapidly in recent years, in terms of players and followers, and is expected to have global revenues in excess of US$1 billion in 2017.
ICSS Europe will collaborate with ESIC on a range of initiatives to encourage good governance, integrity and transparency in E-Sports.
In particular, ICSS Europe will seek to enhance education on anti-corruption for players, competitors, game developers and tournament organisers; provide support on match-fixing investigations, including liaising with betting analysts; and work on the development of a ‘fit and proper persons’ regime for the sport.
Both sides welcomed this collaboration and looked forward to achieving tangible results, in the near future, in the prevention of and fight against any corruption in E-Sports.
