E-Sports Developments - China

By Emre Bilginoglu, Attorney, Istanbul, Turkey Superdata, a digital research firm, states that the worldwide E-Sports’ market was valued at 1.5 billion USD this year. This firm expects a tremendous growth of 26 % by 2020. China is undoubtly a part of this incredible growth. In November, the World final of LoL attracted a crowd of more than 40,000 people in Beijing. LoL developer of Riot Games is owned by a Chinese firm, Tencent. China is on the verge of becoming a new hub for worldwide E-Sports. Another important milestone for the new hub will be the delivery of E-Sports medals at the 2022 Asian Games in Hanghou, China.
